This is a line up that someone has created. I love the use of colours they have used to fill in there drawings. This line up is so creative and looks so fashionable. What I love about this line up is that they are all different figures and have different style. They have included a background which colour scheme mixes in well with the colours of the garments. This makes it look neater and better put together.
This line up really inspired me for my own line up. I love the way their garment is lined up and that they have shown the back and the front of the garment. I also love that they have a figure in the middle to show what way the garment looks like on.
The first thing I done was decide on the first garment I was going to trace. I picked this jacket of WGSN and then printed it of. Once I had it printed out using a black fine liner I was traced around the image and made sure there was no gaps in between the lines. I then scanned my image in using the scanner and then was able to open it up in photoshop.
I then copy and pasted my drawing from Photoshop into illustrator. I used the tool image trace so that the lines are darker and easy to see. I also made sure there was no gaps as then then the pattern would not go into it properly. Once I done this I then used the magnetic tool to trace around the jacket so the jacket was highlighted and only the jacket.
I left my jacket and then opened a new page on Photoshop instead of Illustrator. I decided on the pattern I wanted which I got of WGSN and then opened it in a new page. I then selected the pattern and went to "Edit" and selected "Define Pattern". When I selected this a text box came up (shown below) After naming your pattern you then went on to press "OK".
I copy and pasted the jacket back into photoshop and pressed the button fill. When you press this a textbox will appear (as shown below). Beside the title "contents" click the drop down arrow and choose "Pattern". Your choosen pattern will apear and select it and press "OK".
Your image will now look like this. As you can see the pattern has transfered over to my jacket and now that is my first garment for my lineup completed.
I flipped this photo of my designs horizontal so that the bigger jumper was in the middle and the two smaller ones were at the sides.
I followed the same steps as I done for the first garment and I was able to cover both my jumpers in a pattern. Both these tie dye patterns were designed by me. I created them in one of my classes and was able to put them into my WGSN line up. I then copy and pasted the finished two jumpers into illustrator and put them beside my jacket so the three of them where lined up. I then included a ttitle in Illustrator.
This is my final WGSN line up. I created this line up using a mixture Illustrator and Photoshop. I actually struggled to learn how to apply patterns to my garments, so I had to try and teach myself to make sure I remembered for next time.
Evaluation:

I believe that I created an average line up. I believe that I followed the instructions to include a pattern into my garments. I also included my own designs as my tie dye examples were used. In our brief we had to answer four questions on the final line up. The first quesiton I had to answer was "Why does the chosen work represent the best outcome of the options you could have developed?" At the beginning I had placed my drawings in different positions. The over sized knee length jumper was on the left and the long sleeved top was in the middle. After I had added in all of annotations my line up didn't look right so I decided to change my drawings about. I moved the over sized knee length drawing into the middle and the long sleeved top to the left hand side. This made my final outcome a lot neater and more put together.
The next question was "How does your work compare with the professional work you researched?" The line up I researched really inspired me for my own line up. The research I completed made me decide upon having my three garments lined up in a straight line and having the annotations around them. Another question was "What were the constraints and difficulties you encountered?" The difficulties that I encounted in this assignment was using photoshop and Illustrator. To improve my skills on both of these programmes I went to a class outside of college to help me. This made it easier and I was abe to learn some new techniques that I didn't know. Another difficulty that I had was moving my choosen pattern over to the garments that I had created. I finally learnt how to do it and finally got the hang of it. The final question is "How could you have improved the process or outcome?" If I could improve my final line up I would include figures on my garments. This would create a better line up. I also would include a background that would blend in with the garments that I have included.
